	I’m a sound designer and composer working primarily in film. I come from a nearly 20 year professional background in music production, alongside scoring and supervising multiple short films, including festival-circulating work.
I love close collaboration with directors, shaping sonic identity, emphasizing story, tone, and emotion.
I feel especially drawn to projects in non-fiction, explorations of natural subjects and science, texture, and on top of that, I also enjoy deep diving into disparate sub-genres of music.

Ba Tứ Sắc Của Ngoại (Grandma’s Four Color Cards)
I created the musical score to Sally Tran’s beautiful, personal documentary short, shot in Vietnam,&#38;nbsp;
and&#38;nbsp;set to premiere&#38;nbsp;at SXSW this month.
In her tiny house in District 4, Saigon, 101-year-old Ngoai survives through quiet resilience.
Every evening, she hosts an underground card game, a traditional Vietnamese pastime,
to earn enough to survive the next day.
With her loyal cat by her side and the support of neighbors, Ngoai navigates the challenges of aging and poverty.
The card games are more than just a way to make ends meet,
they bring laughter, warmth, and a sense of connection to her life.
Though the slums weigh heavily on her,
Ngoai’s strength and the care of her community help her live with dignity,
making her a beloved figure in their world.

FitzGerald's approach to music is born from punk, and he carries this DIY approach towards the weighty world of the Cello. With no formal training FitzGerald instead takes an intuitive approach, quietly seeking out expression and treating his sounds to create a unique basin of tension, warmth, and paced release. With percussive contributions from Matthew Byas (of Phony Ppl), restrained Sax skronk from the brilliant Kate Mohanty, synth work from Evan Shornstein (also known as Photay), and vocals from none other than NY Post-Punk legend Anna Domino, FitzGerald has created a cinematic record that moves between worlds of unnerving dread, and lush, hopeful melancholy. ‘Slow Drift’ opens with the unsettling ‘Infinite Life’, where layered Cello and Sax murmur set the scene and accompanying bass rattle evokes the feeling of mechanical motor drift. This melding of the mechanical and organic will become a central theme to the album. ‘Anticipate The Heat’ follows, with the album's most Jazzwise moment - where Byas' scattered hand drums punctuate Mohanty’s mellow flutters. ‘Wind’ is where we find Orlando at his most cinematic and melodic, presenting a serene, bubbling movement where hushed picking and restrained playing recalls the quiet ambience of Helios, or the melancholy of Bruce Langhorne at his most desert swept, staring into an endless horizon.‘Unfolding’ opens with Anna Domino’s unmistakably fragile, sensual, and affecting vocals, for which the Cello compliments in call and response fashion, allowing Anna’s vocals to lead, creating a moment which appears to explore themes of regeneration, loss, and hope - which again, is refracted and responded to by Orlando. Next we have a triptych of ‘Grid’ movements, which continue to explore the above themes, drifting between meditative minimalism and abstract discordance with hypnotic effect - Orlando approaches these pieces with such considered interplay, fully embracing space, silence, and cyclical repetition to create a devastatingly emotive, and desolate landscape, which continuously attempts to regain focus, yearning for stillness. Finally the album ends with 'One' a meditation on wholeness and unity where moody, yet serene guitars balance wailing cello.

Slow Drift is set to be released as an LP on 9th of September 2022 via london-based record label, Where To Now? with a limited run of 300 copies.&#38;nbsp;Listen or Order Vinyyl&#38;nbsp;-HERE-

		<description>
	Extinction 6Released in November 2018, Extinction 6 is an ethereal exploration of waste, greed and ultimately the failures of our society.
At times jarring and uneasy, this record is interspersed with sublime moments of clarity that give the disorientated listener just the occasional flash of optimism in the face of ecological disaster, all the while the artists voice occasionally appearing to guide the listener gently through this post-apocalyptic audio wasteland.
FitzGerald describes the process behind this album:"Last winter, during a period of intense mental isolation/ alienation, totally consumed in the research for this album, I started to feel disconnected from humankind to the extent that I no longer felt human.
Instead, I felt as if I was a visiting body watching a society implode. This album presents a perspective genuinely lacking comprehension of the current state of the world and how we've let it get so far gone"
